How are Your Finances right now?

How are your Finances right now?

How are your finances right now?
Hhmm. What a confronting question! One that you may not fancy answering.
Are you comfortable with it or does it make you squirm? Does it make you
shiver, shake and want to hide those credit card statements? You know the one that shows the new pairs of shoes, then the second pair you bought because the first ones were so good. The bottles of wine (did you really buy that many?), the school fees, the kids uniforms, the soccer fees, the car rego, the house insurance, the car insurance, the medical insurance, the groceries, the mortgage repayments, the petrol costs…….Oh my goodness, no wonder we bought that wine!!!
Seriously, HOW do people do it? How do families keep up with their expenses. Can anyone really earn that much?? The cost of living is so high these days. I have three kids and my oldest turned 13 last week. Even at 13 they want it all. So many kids have I Phones, it seems nearly every kid at least has a mobile phone of some sort (whos paying their bills?), they want the best shoes, the label clothes (which they lose), the lap top, the Wii, the X box, the best skateboards, surfboards, bikes………………the list goes on. And we havnt even talked about the cost of educating them, sporting costs and food!
It blows my mind how families make do these days. Most families have two incomes and high mortgages. To me it seems essential to have in place some investment strategies to grow your money faster. It just isnt enough working for a wage without some other streams of income.
This week we spoke to Jodie McIver, a gorgeous Mum of two littlies and a highly respected financial adviser here in Australia. Jodie gave us some basic tips and information on how to be smart with your money. How to monitor your expenses, how to minimise them  and how to get the whole family on a smart financial plan.It was great talking to Jodie and basically just keeping it simple. It doesnt always have to be complicated. Just starting with some basic strategies to get yourself and your whole family more aware of what you spend and formulate strategies to minimise this.
I’ve always been a saver. My twin sister has always been a shopper. This has clearly worked to my advantage over the years. Ros buys the latest fashions and lots of them, I’ve learnt to wait more to the end of the season when they’re reduced or better still when Ros is sick of them and hands them down to me!! Its saved me thousands of dollars over the years but sadly she’s onto me now. She’s not as keen to just give it all to me because she’s worked it out. Even the other day we took all 7 kids to Dreamworld. When we arrived they took some photos of us all which we could view later in the day. They were $15 each and although I loved them I didnt really want to spend alot more money. The day had already cost us over $500!! Ros ordered hers and then the man said that you can purchase copies for only $5 each. So guess what I did? Yep. I got the $5 ones!! Okay okay, I did give Ros some more money towards it but we both laughed at how typical it was of her and I. She spends and I save.
Which are you, a spender or a saver??
Hopefully after listening to Jodie this week we are all developing good habits of more saving and less spending.

Flirt and Convert!!

Well we interviewed Kylie on Thursday and it was a blast. She taught us all how to “Flirt and convert”

on Facebook!! She brings the glamour and the fun to social networking!! It was so refreshing to hear her unique

take on how to connect with others on Facebook. To her it is a business marketing tool but there are right ways to do it and there are most certainly wrong ways to do it!! How are your social networking skills? Do you offend people or entice them to want to know you more?

Its becoming an artform and you really need to know the social etiquette when it comes to sites like Facebook or you will turn people off quicker than you can say “Twitter”!  Kylie was such a fun lady to interview and her zest for life is contagious. I want what shes got!!! Shes flying all over the country right now doing workshops teaching people how to use Facebook to convert people over to their business and ofcourse buy their products. Facebook is a powerful way to generate traffic to your website which is your shop!! Facebook is your customers first point of reference to you though so you better have it looking spic and span. Professional and interesting. No drunken party photos or obscene language if you want to be taken serioulsy as a professional.

Not everyone sees Facebook in this light. Its up to you what you do with it but if you are out to drive traffic to your site then I would definately listen to Kylie. She knows what she taking about!!

I would love to hear your opinion about this. I would also love to hear if you’ve ever had a bad experience with Facebook. Love to hear it girls.

How to Flirt and Convert on FaceBook

Warning! This Webinar may offend some listeners.

If the sheer thought of unleashing your inner pro or gigolo makes you feel violently ill, dont listen any further because what Kylie is about to share with you is sure to offend!

Whether you admit it or not, everyone of us enjoys a bit of flirtatious attention. It boosts our self esteem, it strokes our ego and makes us feel attractive and desirable.

I’m sure you will agree you will like to be the receiver of a good flirt now and again, but how good are you at giving it? If you want to attract more friends on FaceBook, (who are all potential customers) and grow your business, nows not the time to be a prude, you need to know how to flirt your little toosh off!!

All humans crave attention and connection, period! You’ve only got to look at the huge popularity of FaceBook as proof of this. Facebook has 450 million users, and they’re smart, affluent, internet savvy people who marketers can no longer ignore! A different kind of marketing is now required in order to score with these influential players.

If you think you are the only business doing what you do, think again! You might have had unique selling proposition (USP) when you first launched but now, in todays competitive online world, your uniqueness is becoming the norm!

The more crowded the global market becomes the more challenging it is to dominate and own your niche. In order to stand out in the crowd you need to have sex appeal. Consumers have heard every ‘pick up’ line in the book so no amount of cajoling is going to convince them to go on a date with you: you need to flirt before you can convert! Although this “Facebook Flirting” game can seem daunting and even a little racy, its actually quite simple and Kylie’s going to show you how!!!

See you at 10am tomorrow. If you havnt yet registered, get in quick and register now at www.workingwomenonline.com/webinars/
